Terms and Conditions

1. The practice

These terms apply to all psychological services provided by Menkreo Method, a private practice run by Esther Menkreo, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 98815806 and with the Dutch Institute of Psychologists (NIP) under number 251241. The practice is based at David Ricardostraat 318, 1066 LH Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

2. Sessions

The intake session lasts 45 minutes and is free of charge. All other sessions, including single sessions and sessions within a structured programme, last 50 minutes. Sessions are held online through Google Meet. A link to the session is sent in advance by email.

You are responsible for ensuring you have a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection at the time of the session.

3. Booking and payment

Sessions and programmes are booked through the website. Payment is processed securely through Stripe at the time of booking. Invoices are available on request.

Sessions are not reimbursed through Dutch basic health insurance. You are responsible for checking with your own insurer whether any reimbursement is possible.

4. Cancellation and rescheduling

Sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations or no shows within 24 hours of the session are charged in full, as the time has been reserved for you.

In case of illness or unforeseen circumstances, please get in touch as soon as possible by email.

5. Confidentiality

Everything shared during sessions is treated as confidential, in line with the professional code of conduct of the Dutch Institute of Psychologists (NIP) and Dutch healthcare law. Information is only shared with third parties with your explicit written consent, or where required by law.

6. Records

Session notes and client records are kept in accordance with Dutch healthcare law. Further information on how your data is processed is set out in our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of liability

The psychological services offered by Menkreo Method do not replace medical care, psychiatric treatment, or emergency services. In the case of a crisis or risk of harm, you should contact your general practitioner, the emergency services, or a dedicated crisis line.

Liability is limited to the amount paid for the service in question, except in cases of intent or gross negligence, and to the extent permitted by Dutch law.

8. Complaints procedure

If you are not satisfied with the care you have received, you are encouraged to raise this directly with Esther so it can be discussed and, where possible, resolved.

The practice is affiliated with a complaints procedure in accordance with the Wkkgz (Wet kwaliteit, klachten en geschillen zorg), the Dutch law on quality, complaints and disputes in healthcare. If a complaint cannot be resolved together, you have the right to use this independent procedure. Details can be provided on request.

9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
